The Immigration Council of Ireland is calling on the Government to streamline services for immigrants in order to cut back on bureaucracy.

The council is seeking the creation of a one-stop-shop where the administration of services such as visas, citizenship and PPS numbers would be dealt with in a more professional and efficient manner.

It says the current system is in disarray and is time-consuming for both applicants and the State.
