Cowen rejects responsibility for economic downturn

The Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, has rejected claims that he is personally responsible for the downturn in the economy.

Mr Cowen was speaking in the Dáil today following further criticism from Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny about his handling of the economy while he was Minister for Finance.
