€19m ticket sold in Carlow

Carlow could have a new multi-millionaire.

It has emerged that last night's winning Lotto ticket was sold in Hickson's Centra in the town.

The 18.96m jackpot was the largest ever, after the Lotto rolled over 16 times since the beginning of May.

PJ Hickson, the owner of the shop where the lucky ticket was sold, wished the new multimillionaire well.

"Whoever wins it, we wish it the best of luck," Mr Hickson said.

"We've heard loads of different rumours, different parts of the town, we genuinely don't know (who won it)."
