Sex laws criminalise predators, insists DPP

The Director of Public Prosecutions James Hamilton tonight hit out at critics of sex offence laws insisting they are designed to criminalise predators.

He revealed details of survey carried out by his office which found the vast majority of people prosecuted for sex with a minor, known as defilement, were much older than the victim.
