Substance spill affects Meath roads

An extensive spill of animal fat substance has occurred in the Co Meath area stretching over 50km so far, from Navan town to Kentstown village, to the N2 and extending right towards the Ashbourne By Pass and southbound to Finglas and Dublin.

An extensive spill of animal fat substance has occurred in the Co Meath area stretching over 50km so far, from Navan town to Kentstown village, to the N2 and extending right towards the Ashbourne By Pass and southbound to Finglas and Dublin.

Local Authorities and fire services have been treating the route since before 3pm and anticipate it could be another few hours before the route is completely clear.

Road conditions are extremely dangerous and motorists should avoid the route if at all possible. If you need to use the route, reduce speed and take extreme care.
