Social welfare increases 'needed to tackle poverty'

The Economic and Social Research Institute says significant increases in social welfare are needed to tackle continuing high levels of poverty in Ireland.

The organisation says 16% of Irish people are still at risk of poverty, one of the highest rates in the EU.
