Budget to be toughest in decades

This year’s Budget will be one of the toughest in decades as the Government tries to limit damage to the ailing Irish economy, it emerged today.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen told the Dáil that the Government will take corrective measures later this year to protect the country’s finances from a global downturn.
