Galway traffic restrictions ahead of Westlife concert

Gardaí in Galway are warning of strict traffic restrictions in the city ahead of today's Westlife concert.

30,000 fans are expected to travel to the concert at Pearse stadium in Salthill.

Gardaí say there will be a barrier system in place in the area from 4pm this evening and no cars or pedestrians without tickets will be allowed inside the rails.

They also say people travelling to the event from outside Galway should allow themselves plenty of time for the journey as traffic in the city is expected to be very heavy.
