A cross-border seminar in Co Monaghan today is set to discuss ways to improve safety and reduce accidents on Irish farms.

The meeting, which will be opened by Labour Affairs Minister Billy Kelleher, will involve experts on the matter from both Ireland and Sweden.

Farm accidents account for around one third of all workplace fatalities in Ireland, even though just 6% of the workforce is employed in agriculture.
