Orde condemns landmine attack on police
The attempted murder of two PSNI officers was today branded the ultimate cowardice by chief constable Hugh Orde.
His comments follow a weekend bomb attack close to the Irish border when two officers escaped serious injury when a landmine partially exploded near their car.
One man has been arrested for questioning over the attack which took place near the Co Fermanagh village of Rosslea.
Orde said of the attack: “It is the ultimate cowardice.
“Sneaking away into the night after trying to blow up two officers who were on their way to deal with a call from that community who want policing.”
