Co-operation Ireland 250km Cycle Challenge gets underway
Motorists in Newry, Banbridge, Dundalk and Monaghan have been urged to take extra care on the roads this weekend as a major cycling event gets underway.
Seven hundred cyclists are taking part in the inaugural Co-Operation Ireland 250km cross border challenge today and tomorrow.
It begins this morning at 9am at Dundalk Institute of Technology.
The event is raising funds for Co-operation Ireland, which has been involved in cross border initiatives for more than 30 years.
The group has asked motorists to be patient if they meet the cyclists along the route.
