Govt slashes child-play facility spending

The Government is coming under fire for deciding not to renew the contract for a National Play Resources Centre.

The centre was established in 2005 as a one-stop shop to oversee the development of playing facilities for children.

The Irish Pre-school Play Association and Szgradh are calling on the Government to reconsider the decision to scrap the contract.

They say no alternative proposals have been put forward at official level to promote the development of playing facilities.
