DPP will not pursue Redmond on corruption
The DPP has decided not to pursue a corruption charge against George Redmond.
The 82-year-old former Assistant Dublin City and county Manager was found not guilty of receiving IR£10,000 as a reward for showing favour to another by a jury at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court last month.
However the jury failed to reach a verdict on a second charge. The charges related to the compulsory purchase of 167 acres of land in north-west Dublin.
Mr Redmond will face no further prosecution on the second charge.
