Taxi driver trial nears end

The closing stages have been reached in the trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court of a taxi driver charged with sexually assaulting a female passenger on her way home from a company Christmas Party.

The closing stages have been reached in the trial at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court of a taxi driver charged with sexually assaulting a female passenger on her way home from a company Christmas Party.

The jury of four women and eight men has been addressed by prosecuting counsel, Ms Caroline Biggs BL, and by defence counsel, Mr Peter Finlay SC (with Mr Maurice Coffey BL) on day five of the trial.

Judge Tony Hunt will send the jury of four women and eight men out to begin deliberating when he concludes his charge in the today.
