Farmers' union supports Lisbon Treaty

A leading farmers’ union today agreed to support the Lisbon Treaty after it received assurances the Government will fight for their interests in world trade talks.

Taoiseach Brian Cowen met the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association insisting he would not settle for a deal that undermines Irish agriculture.
