Bolands workers to strike over pay

Workers at hardware retailer Bolands in Arklow, Co Wicklow have voted to strike in a row over pay.

The claim for a €1-per-hour pay rise was originally lodged in May 2006, Mandate union said today.

The decision affects about 30 workers, who, according to Mandate, are being paid less than the average retail rates for workers in the same sector.
