Gardaí investigate cause of Donegal school bus crash
Gardaí are investigating the cause of a road crash yesterday evening in which 27 secondary-school pupils miraculously escaped serious injury.
A Bus Éireann vehicle carrying pupils from the Royal and Prior Secondary School in Raphoe overturned after colliding with a car while on a regular run from Derry to Donegal town at around 4.30pm.
The 34-year-old car driver died in the crash, but the bus driver and the students all escaped serious injury.
Gardaí say the bus was fitted with seat-belts, but none of the pupils were wearing them.
