Decision on ministerial pay rise due

A Green Party Government back-bencher is indicating a decision on the controversial pay rise for ministers could be made shortly.

The Taoiseach has said the Government would look at the issue in the context of negotiations with the social partners on a new national pay deal.

Green Party TD Mary White says the matter could be resolved very soon

The pay hike for Ministers works out at an average €30, 000, while Brian Cowen would stand to gain an extra €38, 000.
