GOAL's John O'Shea to receive honorary doctorate
GOAL founder John O'Shea is to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Notre Dame in the US.
The prestigious Indiana University has described GOAL's work as an "inspiration".
The charity was set up in 1977 and has helped people in humanitarian disasters in more than 50 countries across the world.
John O'Shea says he would "happily and humbly" accept the honour for the many GOAL workers who have helped the organisation during the past 30 years.
