Bord Gáis to seek increase in gas prices
Households look set to face an increase in their gas bills later this year after Bord Gáis confirmed that it would be applying to the energy regulator for a price increase.
Announcing its annual results today, the company said it would be seeking an increase of between 15% and 20%.
It says the increase is needed as the cost of gas purchases have doubled in the past year.
In the UK, gas prices have already increased by an average of 16% so far this year.
