Two men killed in Laois crash

Two men have died following a crash in Co Offaly.

The two-car collision happened near Portarlington just before two o' clock this afternoon.

The men, who were aged 50 and 20, were travelling in the same car - one was the driver and the other was a back seat passenger.

The men’s bodies have been removed to Portlaoise Hospital.

Five other people were injured and have been taken to hospital.

The road has been closed pending a technical examination and motorists have been advised that diversions are in place.
