Woman in critical condition after stabbing

A 38-year-old woman is in a critical condition after she was stabbed at a house in Co Kerry.

Gardaí went to the house on Drimon Green in Listowel at around 5pm last night, following an emergency call.

The woman - who had sustained a serious stab wound - was rushed to Tralee General Hospital.

Her condition is now described as critical but stable.

A 32-year-old Lithuanian man was arrested at the scene and detained at Listowel garda station.

He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
