Mumps outbreak forces university to cancel open day

Thousands of students planning to visit the Maynooth university campus were today warned to stay away after an outbreak of mumps.

The National University of Ireland at Maynooth was due to hold its annual open day tomorrow and had invited 10,000 students to attend.
