Two held in connection with Dublin knife attacks

Two men were arrested today by gardaí probing a series of knife attacks in Dublin city.

Three men had their faces slashed during the knife rampage in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The victims, all in their late teens or early 20s, were injured in three separate attacks in the Temple Bar area of Dublin between 2.30am and 3am.

Given the proximity of the random assaults, between D’Olier Street and Fleet street, Garda believed the same assailant or assailants were involved.

Today, investigating officers arrested two suspects in the Ballyfermot and Palmerstown areas of Dublin.

The 22 and 25-year-olds are being held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Pearse Street and Harcourt Terrace garda stations.
