File being prepared for DPP after Waterford rescue

Gardaí are preparing a file for the DPP following a sea rescue off the coast of Co Waterford early this morning.

Two young men in their 20s were rescued from a fishing vessel that got into difficulty just before 6am.

Ropes from a number of lobster pots are believed to have got tangled in the propeller shaft of the boat, which had earlier been stolen from the harbour in Dunmore East.

Lifeboat crews from Dunmore East and Fethard-on-Sea rescued two men from the vessel who were subsequently questioned by Gardaí and released pending instructions from the DPP.
