An investigation will get underway later today to establish the cause of a fire at a north county Dublin hotel.

The alarm was raised at around 11pm on Saturday night after a blaze broke out at the Bracken Court Hotel in Balbriggan.

Seven units of Dublin Fire Service attended the scene.

The hotel and a number of surrounding buildings were evacuated, and nobody was injured.

The fire was contained and was brought under control in the early hours of this morning.

It is believed the building has suffered extensive damage.
