DUP ratify Robinson as new leader

Peter Robinson was tonight formally ratified as the new leader of the Democratic Unionist Party.

Members of the party’s 120-strong executive unanimously backed the Stormont Finance Minister to succeed the Reverend Ian Paisley, who will retire in June as DUP leader and Northern Ireland First Minister.
