The Gold Classic and Raquel Classic brand cigarettes, which had an estimated street value of €2.1m, were concealed in a container that had arrived from Zebrugge, Belgium.

A spokeswoman for the Revenue’s Customs Service said the seizure was as a result of risk profiling.

“Investigations are ongoing both nationally and Internationally,” she added.
