Temple Bar: Annual Messiah performance takes place

Over a thousand music lovers are expected to gather in Dublin's Temple Bar this morning for the annual open air performance of Handel's Messiah.

The performance takes place every year on Fishamble Street in April.

It marks the beginning of the Handel festival.

Gráinne Miller from the Temple Bar Trust says George Friedric Handel first performed the Messiah while living in Dublin.
