Investigation underway into Waterford house fire

Gardaí say an investigation is underway into the cause of a house fire in which a woman in her 40’s lost her life in Waterford last night.

The blaze was reported just before midnight at Herons Hill, Knockduff in Tramore.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor shortly after 1am.

A man in his 40’s is being treated at Waterford Regional Hospital for smoke inhalation.
