FAS has become the latest organisation to predict a significant rise in unemployment this year due to the ongoing economic slowdown.

However, the jobs agency says it expects the unemployment rate to reach just 5.5%, which is lower than the Central Bank's prediction of 5.9% and the ESRI's prediction of 6%.
