A 23-year-old man arrested over the murder of a drug dealer in Co Cork last year has been released without charge, detectives said today.

A 23-year-old man arrested over the murder of a drug dealer in Co Cork last year has been released without charge, detectives said today.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions about his questioning over the shooting dead of David Brett.

His body was found near Foyle Primary School about 6.5 kilometres outside Ballydesmond village on May 21 last year.

Detectives in Bandon arrested a man in Killavoy in Banteer at around 8.10am yesterday as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder.

The man was detained at Bandon Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.

He was released late last night.
