An air rifle was fired at the back of a publican’s head by a paranoid man who heard voices and believed people were talking about him behind his back.

A man in his 30s has been charged in connection with a shooting incident in which a man was injured in a Co Cork pub over the public holiday weekend.

A 23-year-old man arrested over the murder of a drug dealer in Co Cork last year has been released without charge, detectives said today.
