Suspect Wexford device declared a hoax

The Army has today declared a suspect device in Co Wexford a hoax.

A package containing batteries and wires was found at the door of a pub in Coolgraney, south of Arklow, was discovered before lunch.

Gardaí were alerted and the Army Bomb Disposal Team was dispatched.

After examining the device is was found to contain no explosive content.

The Defence Forces says no controlled explosion was required.
