Cyclists will set out on a four-day journey from Dublin to Enniscrone in Co Sligo to raise funds for Irish Autism Action (IAA).

The IAA will also have an information stand at the three-day British Psychological Association which opens in the RDS today.

The IAA also plans to run an awareness campaign throughout the month of April.

Celebrities will tee off in fund-raising golf classics taking place in Mullingar and Tyrellspass in Co Westmeath on Friday.

The Approved Behavioural Analysis (ABA) method of teaching children with autism was recently debated in the Dail.

There are more than 60 million people with autism around the world.
