Man dies in hospital after being struck by car

A 26-year-old man died in hospital in Donegal this evening after being hit by a car at the weekend.

He was struck by the vehicle as was walking on Pearse Road, Letterkenny at around 3.45pm on Sunday afternoon.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the accident is being asked to contact gardaí at Letterkenny Station.

A post-mortem is due to take place tomorrow.
