Ennis murder trial jury sworn in

The jury has been sworn at the Central Criminal Court for the trial of an Clare man accused of the murder of his brother in January 2007.

The jury has been sworn at the Central Criminal Court for the trial of an Clare man accused of the murder of his brother in January 2007.

Patrick McDonagh (aged 27) of Bridge Court, Roslevan, Ennis, pleaded not guilty to murdering his brother Charlie (aged 30), at Bridge Court, on January 28 last. He also denies the alternative charge of manslaughter.

He also denied producing a knife in the course of a fight.

The trial is expected to start tomorrow before Mr Justice Paul Carney and the jury of seven women and five men.
