30-year-old arrested in connection with Kerry murders

A 30-year-old man remains in Garda custody this morning in connection with the double murder of a father and son in Co Kerry.

A 30-year-old man remains in Garda custody this morning in connection with the double murder of a father and son in Co Kerry.

The bodies of 60-year-old Michael Hanrahan and his 27-year-old son Denis were discovered on Thursday morning in Moyvane, they had been shot a number of times.

The bodies of Michael Hanrahan and his son Denis were discovered next to each other on Thursday morning with around eight shotgun cartridges on the floor.

On Saturday night a 30-year-old man from the north Kerry area but not believed to be from Moyvane was arrested in Tralee.

He is being held at Listowel Garda Station.

Examinations of a shotgun found in the house are continuing.
