IMO to raise pension concerns with Harney

The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) says it will be raising a number of issues with Minister for Health Mary Harney later today regarding the latest draft consultant contract.

The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) says it will be raising a number of issues with Minister for Health Mary Harney later today regarding the latest draft consultant contract.

The organisation's consultants committee is currently drafting its response to the proposals, which it received on Thursday.

Committee spokesperson Sean Tierney says his colleagues have particular concerns over pensions and salaries.

Harney is due to address the IMO agm in Killarney later this evening.
