O Searcaigh denies sexual exploitation in Nepal

Controversial Donegal poet Cathal O Searcaigh has claimed he was wronged and misrepresented in the documentary 'Fairytale of Kathmandu'.

In the film, O Searcaigh admits that he has sex with teenage boys and young men during his frequent visits to Nepal.

However, in a pre-recorded interview on Radio na Gaeltachta today, he denied engaging in sexual exploitation.

He also said he intends to return to Ireland.

The interview was O Searcaigh's first public comment since the documentary was shown on television here recently and sparked widespread controversy across the country.
