Driver questioned and released after Westmeath accident

A man is still in a serious condition in hospital this afternoon after he was knocked down by a car in Co Westmeath.

The 22-year-old pedestrian suffered serious head injuries after he was struck by a car on the Dublin Road in Athlone just before midnight.
