One man still in custody after Laois drugs haul

One man remains in garda custody in connection with a heroin seizure in Co Laois at the weekend.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of €300,000 were discovered in a wooded area at Ballyfin, near Portlaoise at around 7pm on Saturday.

Another man who was arrested at the scene was released last night from Portlaoise garda station.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
