Finglas bus service to resume

A full bus service in Finglas north and west will be restored from this evening.

It follows discussions between gardaí, management and union representatives.

Drivers say they were forced to curtail services on the number 40 and 220 routes because of an increase in the number of attacks on the buses over past three weeks.

Talks will resume on Tuesday in an effort to find a long term solution to the problem.

SIPTU shop steward John McCamley says the issue of violence on buses is spreading and needs to be addressed.
