Two men and a woman have been arrested at Rath Lugh in Co Meath as the standoff over the controversial M3 motorway continues.

The men were detained this afternoon, while the woman was arrested earlier this morning on an alleged trespassing offence.

The protestors claim that the National Roads Authority breached an agreement that no further work would take place at the site.

However, the NRA denies that it has gone back on any agreement - it has decided to construct a footprint of the planned road within the construction site to identify where exactly the road will be built and remove any concerns that it will have any potential impact on the national monument.
