Rapist’s home damaged in Tyrone arson attack

The Co Tyrone home of convicted rapist Eamon Foley has been badly damaged in a malicious overnight fire.

The blaze broke out in the town of Castlederg at around 10pm.

A window was apparently broken before a fire was started inside, but nobody was in the house at the time.

Mr Foley was recently released after serving eight years of a 16-year sentence for raping 91-year-old Castlederg woman Anne McLaughlin in 1999.

Local people have spoken out against his return to the town following his release.
