Shots fired in Dublin as armed raiders stage ATM theft
A large amount of cash has been stolen in an armed robbery in West Dublin today.
Two shots were fired as four masked men, one armed with a handgun, held up security staff at an ATM machine at the Hillcrest Shopping Centre, Lucan at 12 noon.
No-one was injured and the raiders escaped in a silver-coloured BMW car which sped off in the direction of the N4 road.
“At least two shots were fired during the course of the robbery and the raiders escaped with a substantial amount of cash,” a Garda spokesman said.
Gardaí from Lucan Garda Station have appealed for information from members of the public.
