Pupils escape injury as school bus collides with car

More than 20 school pupils from Mullingar narrowly escaped injury this morning when their school bus was involved in a head on collision with a car.

Twenty-two pupils from Sonna National School in Slane Moore were involved in the crash at Bun Brosna, one mile off the main Longford to Mullingar road.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Nobody else was seriously hurt, despite both vehicles being write-offs.
