Public invited to attend debate on Lisbon Treaty

The public is being invited to attend a debate in Dublin this lunchtime between supporters and opponents of the Lisbon Treaty.

The event is being hosted by the National Forum on Europe at Liberty Hall.

Fine Gael MEP Gay Mitchell will be putting forward the case in favour of the treaty, while Sinn Féin MEP Mary Lou McDonald will be arguing against.

Ireland is the only EU country holding a referendum on the document.
