Pharmacists 'not overreacting' to HSE plans

Pharmacists have said that they are not overreacting to a new HSE plan which reduces the amount of money paid to them.

It was feared some chemists would refuse to supply drugs to medical card holders from today.

However the Irish Pharmaceutical Union said that all pharmacists should to continue dispensing medication as normal until members meet to discuss the HSE plans.

The executive said it would reduce the wholesale cost of drugs.
