One man in serious condition after Roscommon crash

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a two-vehicle crash on the main Athlone to Roscommon road last night.

The crash involving a car and a van, happened at 9pm on the N61 near Knockcroghery.

The two male occupants of the vehicles were taken to Roscommon County Hospital.

One of the men has been transferred to Galway University Hospital, where his condition is being described as serious but stable.

The other man has since been discharged.
